Make it Rain

What we need
· Glass
· Very hot water
· Plate
· Ice
What we did
· We put the hot water in
the glass
· Cover the glass with the
plate
What do we think will happen?
· The water will get cold
· The plate will get hot
· The glass will turn fuzzy
How will we know
· We would use our looking
eyes
What did happen?
· The insides of the glass
had drips on
· Steam came from the hot
water and hit the cold plate
· The plate was warm
Now
we put some ice on the plate to make it really cold
We
lifted the plate off the glass and on the bottom of the plate there were some drips – it was like rain
Dean
was dripped on !! It was like a rain cloud
Where did the water on the plate come from?
· The hot water turned into
steam (water vapour) and hit the cold plate and it turned back to water
(condensation)
